Dear Sisters & Brothers in Christ,
While most of us live by the Gregorian Calendar, some people still live according to the Julian Calendar. There are those who live their life according to the fiscal calendar. Maybe it was all those years I spent in school, but I still seem to operate by the school year. Despite that fact, I am just now getting some vacation. But have no fear, while I am gone life shall go on.
In fact, life around here should start getting pretty busy. We have our Pancake Breakfast this Sunday. Our Sign Me Up Sunday where we will once again recommit ourselves to offering God our time, talent and treasure. It is our chance to not only serve our Lord, but also one another and our community. Fr. Anthony will also be visiting from Nigeria. Someone also turns 55 in September, but I'm not telling, or admitting, who! But don't forget the Birthday Blessing while I'm gone because he surely needs it.
In October, we have our Spirituals Concert, which I really hope you will all attend this inspiring and wonderful event. We'll also host a Taizé prayer service. We will have our Elder's Day weekend, and celebrate 50 years of faithful service by Br. Terry the following weekend. Thirty-eight of those years were right here on the corner of Cook & Grand. And of course, we all know what November means... Oh yes! CARD PARTY TIME!!!
So, until I return, I wish you well and I look forward to coming back to all the activity that Fall always seems to bring. Have fun!
In the Redeemer,
