The Body and Blood of Christ

Dear Sisters & Brothers in Christ,

Today we celebrate the Feast of Corpus Christi, or the Body and Blood of Christ. I want to congratulate the seven young men and women who will be making their first Holy Communion today. I know they are excited! I am overjoyed to be able to welcome them to the Table of The Lamb and offer them the Eucharist. I pray that it nourishes them throughout their life, and strengthens their faith in the love of God and the Redemption won for them by the Sacrifice we celebrate at this altar.

Next Sunday is our annual picnic. While it is always great to have time to just relax, eat good food and enjoy one another's company, I am especially excited this year because of our Jubilee. The Jubilee Committee and the Social Life Committee have been working hard to make this year’s picnic special. I also want to make it a family & friends event. So I hope you are planning to be here and I hope that you extend an invitation to some of your family and/or friends who haven't been to The Rock recently, or perhaps ever. This is a great opportunity to bring them along, enjoy our Spirit-filled liturgy and then a great meal and some fun and games in our beautiful yard. Bring a dish to share with fellow Parishioners, your appetite and your dancing shoes, as we will have some special live entertainment.

In the Redeemer,

Fr Rick

P.S. Don't forget to pray for good weather!
