Dear Sisters & Brothers in Christ,
I want to thank everyone who worked hard to make our S.M.U.S. a success, especially our kitchen crew. Please pray for Deborah and those helping her as they attempt to clean up our data system and make it more useful for us. As soon as she is ready we will print out new lists for the commission heads to review and edit as needed. To all who signed-up, who said, "Yes Father, here I am, send me," please do not wait for an invitation. You have already received it from your Lord. Simply go to the next meeting. If you did not receive that information when you signed up, then simply give Roberta a call and she can tell you when and where they meet. Let us all go into our Father's Vineyard and reap a rich harvest for our Lord.
We will be inviting each of the Commission heads to follow up with some sort of bulletin information that lists their ministry information and perhaps where they need the most help. If you missed S.M.U.S. Then simply get one of the gold sheets that list our ministries (as well as, talents we are looking for), fill the information out on the back, select your ministries and talents and drop it in the box at the Usher's table or put it in the collection. As we celebrate 150 years of labor in the Vineyard at Cook & Grand, let us aim for FULL participation.
I hope you are all planning on returning this afternoon for the Spirituals Concert. You know this is near and dear to my heart. It is always a wonderfully uplifting experience. While our choirs and LLIM have been working hard, the rest of us can sit back and enjoy the fruit of their labor and some powerful music.
Card Party is also just around the corner and I am asking everyone to step up and contribute in some way to its success. One thing I would like to see is for every adult parishioner to sell 10 raffle tickets ($50 worth). If 300 parishioners rise to this challenge and are successful, that would be $15,000, and guarantee our Card Party will be a financial success! Considering what each of us contributes to other churches and organizations throughout the year, I do not think this is too much to ask. Ask all your Facebook "friends." If we all work together I am sure it will be a great success and an enjoyable event.
There is also the trip to Fr. Paul's Parish to consider. Unfortunately I need to be here, otherwise I would love to go. Hopefully we will get a nice group to represent us, as Fr. Paul has always been generous with his time here at The Rock. I'm sure it too will be a wonderful event. I thank the Fosters in advance for pulling this together at such short notice.
In the Redeemer,
